Hoping our classmates in Florida survived safe and sound.  Jerry Israel, Howard Glaser, Jeanette Lucrisia, Connie Mesmer and Laurie Hansen.  Probably others also.  The only thing that I have experinced would be the Columbus Day storm of 62'.

Jerry Israel in Floirda? Exsqueeze me? Geography was never my forte but I have it from a reliable source that Florida lies outside the propinquity of Panama. Are you tryin' to hoodwink us, Sheriff McLeod? I've been in touch with Laurie Hansen and the storm bypassed her for the most part. The others, I have no info, sorry...

I have never, I mean never winked at a hood in my life.  Might have been hit on the head by one on a Ford or Chevy once or twice.  However Jerry's current bio says Miami Florida.  Now he may have moved to Panama City FL., or to the country of Panama???  I would go check the Inner Sanctum, but I might find Elvira Mistress of the Dark instead.  That might not go over too well at home.

Jerry, speak up.  Feeble minds don't need to know but want to anyway.

Sylvia, good to hear from the North.  Are you all prepped for the winter?  Mukluks, fur lined unmentionables, sled runners all waxed and a supply of food?  Is there a Farmers' Almanac prediction for your winter?  Standard issue for us.  Wet, gray, cold, windy and maybe some snow.

Hi all  I am in the country of Panama in the Coronado area pacific side live 50 yards from  the ocean in a beach front condo

John, I heard that Jerry Israel is living in Bouquette, Panama. I sent a message out on FB to Margo Berg ( I know she wasn't in our class) but she lives in Naples,Florida which was hit hard. Haven't heard back from her yet. But that may be because of power outages.

Jerry, Good on you, too lucky.

Dang, it really chaps my hide when the other John is right.  Think we are having lunch this week and maybe Phil Anderson.

Sylvia, my question about the north should been the south.  Toronto is about 275 miles south of Seattle.  Cousins in Windsor. Ontario tell me that it is the same Latitude as Northern California.  Windsor is a across from the river from Detroit.

Mark, sure do remember Margo.  Hope she is all right.  The Columbus Day Storm was a mere intestinal backfire in the wind compared to Ian.

I might have to volunteer for WITSEC if I continue spewing misinformation into the ether.

Lights on, nobody home.............

LOL, John.  Toronto winters are a bit colder but less snowy than northern New Jersey where we lived for many years, so not too many complaints. Although shoveling snow is not my preferred activity in old age. :)

Good to see some new names on our site.  Glad to hear that those in Florida seem to have escaped with minor issues.

Calling all Class of "68 women.  Please let me know either through this forum or by email or text if you'd like to join a lunch or dinner for us.  Email - yaelaettlinger@gmail.com.  Phone for texting - 206 356 1484.  Please don't call me before texting as I don't answer callers whose number I don't recognise.  The guy's lunch place in Renton was kind of expensive - $25 per person so ideas on other venues would be great.  I'm going to try to put a notice on our Facebook page but so far the technology isn't working for me.  Hope to hear from you!

Ooops -  the message about lunch/dinner for the women in our class is from me, Georgina Palmer now Yaela Ettlinger.

Okay, going out on a limb here.  Mr. Hein and I have scheduled a lunch on Wednesday at 11:00 at "The Fishin Hole" in Montesano.  Right at the interchange of Hwy. 8/12 and Hwy 107.  I-5 south to the Hwy 101 exit in Olympia, head for Aberdeen until you get to Montesano.  About a 2 hr drive from Seattle.  I'm sure we can spring for some soda crackers and a pine float.  Men, women, transgenders et al.  Hopefully Phil Anderson will make it also.  We will be the guys with grey/white hair, a few or lot of wrinkles and packing a few extra pounds.  No plans, just lunch.  Yaela load up the Model T with friends.

John M. If you mean Wednesday, October 5th I can't because it is Yom Kippur. Otherwise would have loved to have joined you. If it's a different Wednesday let us all know. I do think the women should have a just ladies lunch though because in our generation women in a mixed group tend to just listen to the men. Isn't that a polite way of putting it, fellow females?

Well. dagnabbit.  !0/5  is Yom Kippur and our lunch get together.  I understand what you mean about a co-ed gathering.   Another time.

Judith E. Payne

I love the idea of having a women's lunch -- John, a co-ed one would be great too but I have a special spot for gathering with women.  Unfortunately I'm way up in NH so can't make it.  I will toast you virtually if you gather.

Looking forward to meeting up with you all at the Fish'in Hole restaurant on Wednesday at 11:00. I'll be the old guy with some grey hair along with some shine. Phil

Nancy Raetzloff (Groth)

To Wayne Cofer.  Since you seem to be in contact with Russ Faiferlick, could you get his current information and message it to me?  Last I heard, Russ was in Mexico.

10/05/22 11:22 AM #1531

Wayne Cofer

Nancy,

I do not yet have Russ Faiferlicks new address in FT.Myers.  I sent him a text asking for it.

I do know he moved from Mexico to Estero, Florida a couple of years ago and then recently

had the house built in FT. Myers.

Nancy,

Turns out Russ Faiferlick stayed within the city limits of Estero with the new house he had built ( next to FT.Myers, Florida.)

OK all yous '68 Quackers, not to be outdone by a Feast in Renton, there's the Fishing Hole in Monty-Insano.... I mean uh... Montesano. Jeez, what was in that coffee??? Anywise I had the extinct pleasure of brunching with Phil Anderson, Ric Rivera, and the guy yous guys call the other John, Sheriff McLeod of Hoodwink notoriety. Or, am I the 'other'? I can't remember, I'm old.... Hope all's well with all, peace, out...

I don't know about the others, but I had a great time.  Three fast paced hours of what happened to ????? have you seen, I can't believe that, they've been married how many times???? and just a lot of fun catching up.

Mr. Hein referred to the coffee.  My secret is now revealed.  I consume copious quantities of bean squeezings.  Ric comes in a close second.  I think we were cut off at about the 4th or 5th pot. At least we were'nt 86ed for too much laughing.  Look forward to another gathering..

I had a great time as well. These guys have incredible memories about things that happened 50+ years ago, it was a fun walk back iin time. As for John M.'s coffee consumption, I didn't know it was possible for anyone to drink that much and never get up! Thanks John H. for making oit happen, seeing the three of you was a real treat for me and I hope we do it again.  Phil

Greetings women of "68!

We've finalized our lunch plans:

Date: Tuesday, November 15th

Time: 12 Noon

Place: Mali Thai Cuisine, 17310 Southcenter Parkway, Tukwila, 98188.

Slogan: Be there or be square!

If you saw my posting from earlier today you will have noticed that the restaurant has changed.  I drove down there today and found that the originally posted restaurant was not the one I had enjoyed recently and also had low Department of Health ratings.  Mali Thai Cuisine's health rating is "excellent".  It will be fun to see all of you.

L'shalom, Yaela (Georgina)
