So many Wunda Wunda memories. But gosh I had no idea she had lived so long. Bless her heart!

My mother actually went to school with Wunda Wunda. I even still have my Benji bear. Very tattered but much loved.

I remember being in the studio for a Wunda Wunda show.  No idea why I was there, and I couldn't have been very old.  Had no idea she lived so long.  Wow, 101 years.

Yeah, my Mom went to school with her, too! I think that's when she was at Roosevelt HS.

KUDOS to Andrew Kumasaka! Congratulations!

Andrew joins our other known classmate authors and contributors to published works - Sylvia Lovergren, Edward Olsoe, Tracy Dahlby, and Al Ovadia. Do we have more?

Congratulations to Andy!  I've ordered your book in hardback (paperback isn't out yet).  Thanks for the heads up, Ric.  Let's read the book and pile on great reviews (which it will deserve, I'm sure.)

A thank you from the author himself.

Thank you Ric, Judy, Yaela, Joanne, Wayne, and others for your positive words regarding my new novel, "All Gone Awry." I actually want to thank the entire Franklin class of '68 for providing the foundation and encouragement needed for a project like this. This is your book, too.

Yes yes!
"Wunda Wunda is my name
Oh boys and girls I'm glad you came
We'll have fun and play some games
Won't you _ _ _?"

Andy, your book is on order with the Seattle
Public Library. I am on the waiting list and am looking forward to reading it. Congratulations!

It has been suggested by a classmate that we consider a zoom reunion format for those at a distance.  I see lots of hurdles, and am wondering what others think.

I am faraway and do much on Zoom that works great.  But I would hope to attend the reunion in person if the dates work for me.

I think Zoom calls work great in very small groups. People in larger groups tend to talk over each other and it can make the session unproductive. I vote for in-person. I live in Calabasas, CA and it would be worth the expense to be in a room with my fellow graduates.

Are we talking about 2023?  Hoping at that point in the pandemic that we are able to gather in person. But perhaps there could be a hybrid, for folks not able to travel so far for whatever reason?  I know that's technically tricky but maybe folks who are good at technical stuff might have some ideas.

I like Sylvia's idea of a hybrid. Though I agree with Al that large groups on Zoom get tricky at least people on Zoom could see everyone and have a chance to talk with some.

I'm with you all who are interested in a Zoom Reunion of some kind. I really don't care if I ever hear another reunion speech or get some reunion trinkets, because  I just want to touch base with some old (72 yer old!!!) friends who would not otherwise ever get together again.

This would be espaecially good for those who have moved half a world away, though the time zones would make it harder to plan betewwn the individuals involved. A small hurdle considering the great advantages.

Al Ovadia

The reason I poo-pooed it to some extent vs. in-person is that I have been on birthday Zoom's with maybe 10 people and it was crazy. Everyone talking over eachother trying to grab the "mic" if you will. Let's say alumnus A wanted to chat with alumnus B. How is that done, and do all the other 90 people on the Zoom just sit there while the two of them chat?

I could be completely wrong (happens a lot) and simply do not understand how it could work efficiently.

Can someone explain how it could work?

Thanks.

I bet we can make use of tech smart and managerial smart class members to develop a zoom set up with break out rooms which would solve the problems Al is addressing.

To ZOOM IT Maybe the technology has been updated to accommodate the shortfalls by then. The Bel Canto 2021 Reunion did, with approximately 50 online. - "There has to be the owner of the ZOOM account thus likely will orchestrate small groups of ten changing every 5-10 minutes". Individuals phoning in are included. What a HUGE undertaking!

Great posts thank you all!

Goodbye, 2021 - Hello 2022! Let's do 2022 into a good year! On the Eve, the eclipse, the candle flames out, "times gone by," and you light another, you turn the page and a new chapter you will again, write.

Now, grab your favorite brew [does not have to be Kombucha] and give "Thanks." For good health angels, a toast to dear ones and friends, more so raising your glass to those that passed into memory!

So, for those in spirit. Upon every wave of the sparkler, every handful of glitter fallen, every firework burst in the sky. Honor their glory, "Wow, that's spectacular!" - Give a big "Thank You" from the bottom of your heart. "HERE's TO YOU!" - Good friend, buddy, family member, or loved one!" "HERE's TO YOU!" - "Til We Meet Again" - "ALOHA OE'"
