Good stories and sad news though Lots of Laughs All... this here is better than the daily grumble of drumpfgate follies of the 45th twilight zone dimension.

I digress, I was recently at a march union retiree business meeting talk about seniors being amonst jolly seniors some who had 50th years with bee factory my junior. We talked about travel plans trips across the pond and then worrying about, "I hear you knockin' but you can't come in" thingy. Now, that I think of it most of us were wearing glasses so we could read the minutes and eat lunch. I was still waiting for Chris Louie to show up and tell tales.... hmmmm, think he's still working on the tales. Oh, I forgot it was a business meeting of elderly's business.

Happy ☘️ BirthdayπŸŽ‚ to all March classmates πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€

Nostalgia Alert!!!

Hi Gang,

I recognize many of your names in this forum, but for the most part, I never seemed to have hung around with any of you.  But I thought I'd let you know I saw this in an antique mall in Fremont the other day.  It's in great shape and been there months but I never got around to posting the picture here.  If anyone's interested, let me know.  You have to have your own Letter.  I think it's size 42, and a name tag sewn in the left pocket says "B Berry."  Anyone recognize the name?

Kevin!!!

Welcome to the age averse crowd.  I was beginning to think that you may have become a member of the flat earth society and had accidentally walked off the edge.  I've been known to teeter on the edge a time or two.

Age averse?  Who me?  There's only one way to stop aging and I'm not going there yet.  I'm aiming for the big 1-0-0.  Everything after that will be a bonus.

And of course the earth is flat.  The only reason no one has fallen off the edge is because the earth is shaped like a giant Mobius strip (Any geeks out there?).

And actually, I've been looking in on the forum for years, but like my time back in the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant, I'm around, but I just don't say much.

Ongoing education...........Kevin.  I now have a new, to me, term to use.  I just tried it at the lumber yard and asked for a Mobius strip of sandpaper.  Blank stares across the counter.  After informing them what a Mobius strip was, along with a little Euclidian backup explanation, the response was for me to just ask for a sanding belt  next time.  Greek no.  Drop the R and that is what I are.

Koala bears' diet consists largely of Euclidian trees. They are not known to consume Mobius strips.

πŸ‘ LoL! Oh my! The club house patches gang is alive and well! John Mc ... the 7 course meal of 6pack & 1 potato diet has worked wonders.....  using the relative Euclidian 345 rule has allowed constructing the club house corners from a slightly different angle. The Mobius band in the Rainier valley is alive & well it's a good thing we got ac juice, plugging in learning the angle of what the computer and it's I/O ports allowed us to, tether from the edge. The abacus and the slide rule no longer a rule.laugh Have a Good Eucalyptus Day!

Hi, everyons. I just posted an announcement for the Franklin Hall of Fame - Thurs May 18 at Franklin from 5:30-9. The Alumni Association has been holding this event for several years. It's [retty wonderful - about 150 alumni who graduated anywhere from the 1940s to the 2000s are there - a really glowing example of the richness of Franklin's history. I'll be there and would love to see some classmates - All those nostalgic posts make me think it might be fun to see you all in person.  Tickets are just $40 and tables seat 8. Maybe we can get started on planning our 50th reunion!

Ya better sit down kids, we need to talk: Jim Eastwood has been waging a tough battle with cancer the last 4 years or so. He's now in hospice and may be lost any day now. Please keep him in your thoughts, and send your best sympathies to his wife Becky (pugetsafetyequipment@yahoo.com).

Jim wove himself into the fabric of my life starting in 3rd grade. So many memories.......I'm numb with emotion no words can express.

Peace

Jim Eastwood

Jim passed away last night.  He truly fought hard to beat his cancer.  I was so blessed to be his wife of 40 years and will hold him in my heart and soul forever.  He really enjoyed reading the posts on this forum and sharing with me numerous stories of your years together.  Jim always lit up the space he was in.  He called himself a peddler as he wanted people to know he wasn't a salesman.  Boy could he peddle anything and everything!  Life was never dull with Jim.  He's at peace now and it's our turn to share and spread his peddler's stories.

Becky

I was saddened to hear of Jim Eastwood's passing. Jim and I played Little League baseball together at Lakewood for the Lakewood Police Officer's Guild. I am guessing we started roughly at age 9 and played together for three years. He was a helluvah fielder and not too shabby with the bat as well. I found this picture to share with everyone from 1961. Jim is in the bask row of course, next to Dennis Perry and David Azose. Also on the team were Franklin grads, Ron Saxby, Tom Rhodes, (me), Rod Kawakami and Wayne Henry. While I have not seen Jim for almost 50 years I do carry with me fond memories from my youth of a teammate and friend.

I was just sent this info from a 1980 FHS grad.  Wondering if anyone in Seattle would like to take on the task of tracking down the brothers in this obituary, to see if this is our Franceda Saloy.  John MacLeod, Ric Rivera, or any other sleuths willing to do the job?

Franceda's Obituary

SALOY-PEREZ, Franceda Was born in New Orleans on August 29, 1950. Age 62. Mrs. Saloy-Perez passed away on September 13, 2012 in Sacramento. She is survived by her husband David Perez of Sacramento. Other survivors include brothers, Stanley Jr, Burnette, Jeffrey and Eric, all of Seattle and...

Thanks.
