Nancy Raetzloff (Groth)

I was just sent this info from a 1980 FHS grad.  Wondering if anyone in Seattle would like to take on the task of tracking down the brothers in this obituary, to see if this is our Franceda Saloy.  John MacLeod, Ric Rivera, or any other sleuths willing to do the job?

Franceda's Obituary

SALOY-PEREZ, Franceda Was born in New Orleans on August 29, 1950. Age 62. Mrs. Saloy-Perez passed away on September 13, 2012 in Sacramento. She is survived by her husband David Perez of Sacramento. Other survivors include brothers, Stanley Jr, Burnette, Jeffrey and Eric, all of Seattle and...

Thanks.

Reunion update from Ric Rivera for the Saturday evening venue August 25, 2018.

On the day of our 4th meeting July 25th we had the pleasure to connect with FHS alumni Marcia Beinn class of '70 who showed us The Canal at Ballard Locks (formerly Hiram's restaurant).

We are HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE that we have picked The Canal for our Saturday event, discovery is over. This venue holds a lot of overall value that met and exceeded expectations! It certainly has a great feel to it, you can... start making your plans!

This location offers up plenty of parking and the adjacent Locks parking lot becomes more available after closure. Inside there is ample room and seating and a beverage bar. It's a nookery of sorts having 3 tiers that's very cozy. It is ADA compliant and access to the outdoor veranda with tables and fire pit and a great view. Further details e.g. theme, agenda, program are work in progress as we move forwards.

Out of a class of 620 alumni 2 FHS 1968 classmates from Hawthorne Elementary have pinned books. Are there other hidden treasures more authors out there? Let the books speak for themselves, the horns blow loudly!

To paraphrase post from our Facebook group page "Franklin High School Quakers Class of 68 50th Reunion Seattle "

Congratulations Sylvia and Nedsmileyyes

Greets 68-ers, I inadvertently stumbled across a post on FaceBook that sez Cheryl Carrabba is in the hospital under hospice care. No other details available. I don't believe this is fake news or alt-facts. Pleez keep her in your thots. If you have contact info on friends or family pleez pass on best wishes. I cropped this pic from the 1965 Sharples Sharks yearbook.

Peggy Johnson

She is not on hospice but she is trying to heal in the hospital. It will take a while but hope she will pull out of it. This is her cousin

That is better news, Peggy!  Thank you for posting that.  Would you send Cheryl my best wishes for a speedy recovery?  Tell her she needs to be at the 50th reunion or many people will be very disappointed!  Lots of healing thoughts and prayers headed her way.

Thanx for the update Peggy. Pleez let Cheryl know we're all pulling for her and hope she gets on the mend asap. And pleez keep us posted as to her progress.

Just wondering if anyone remembers Arnold Corrales.

09/04/17 10:48 AM #1150

Michael Holman

Absolutely. I've tracked him down several times thru the internet, but he is reclusive. Please note Arnold is a Veteran. He served 20 years in the USAF.

Nancy, I  remember Arnold from St. Edwards elementary.  He was kind of shy but always good to be around and I count him as a friend thru those years.

As posted from Franklin High School Quakers Class of 68 50th Reunion Seattle Facebook closed group page.

So here is a 3rd author that comes under the lights from Whitworth but mostly from Graham Elementary.

His important contribution writing a chapter for a definitive 3rd and 4th edition book on the Movie Business. Certainly is part of an ensemble overall is amongst the titans, the pillars of players, movers and shakers in the entertainment industry. The images speak for themselves. Thank you Al Ovadia for your dedication. May the Force be with you, so say we all.

Well put John M., and I've been wondering about Tracy and if/how he felt the havoc wreaked by Harvey. In February of this year, I went to Dallas; I'd been wanting to see Dealey plaza for 53 years. I was not disappointed as I saw where we lost a President as 8th graders. Suffice to say lotsa things to do/see in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. But I digress...... Tracy wrote a great piece in memorium after Jim Eastwood lost his battle with cancer. If anybody wants to read it, lemme know I'll email ya a copy. Has anybody had any contact with Tracy? Austin didn't take the brunt of Harvey, but felt some effects. I captured this image of Dealey Plaza from Reunion Tower. Ya I know, I'm digressing, but after a half-century, I'd still like to know the truth......

Always a pleasure to read the blogs of our public hall, the FHS message forum. Our walls are filled with announcements, interesting facts and stories be told; stories of yore. Thank you ALL!  ~  RIP for classmates no longer with us but remain in our hearts ~

To John JohnJohn Mac. and John H – Yesiree, thanks for bringing Tracy to surface.

  • I would also note as well that Tracy is on the 50th Reunion Committee and all have been enjoying our connection in person. Airmailing the pizza, cookies & milk too via Conference Call… wink wink.

  • Everyone is encouraged to join the 50th Reunion Committee in making it yours a memorable 50th. All for one, 1 for all!

  • You do not have to join in person. Ad interim committee meetings, updates are mostly via web email. On a smaller scale FB messenger and this our class website is used to privately PM.

  • In the proceeding Reunion Update #1171 msg names have been added to the committees formed. Hopefully, you may feel comfortable to join in. The list continues to grow.
