There are several places to find annuals. The Franklin library has a collection, I think, as does the teacher who is the adviser for the annual. But it may be hard to get in over the summer. I think the Seattle Public Schools Archives has a collection and maybe even the Seattle Public Library. The the Rainier Valley Historical Society has one as well. You can check their website for hours. http://www.rainiervalleyhistory.org/

Awesome pics!  You guys all look the same -- and say hey to Charles!  Any idea what happened to Dennis Perry?  I used to see him working down at Pike Place at one of the butcher shops, but it's been years and year ago now.  He was always such a friendly guy with a big easy smile.

It seems to have gotten very quiet in here again. OK, so how about a moment of silence for one of our classmates? Let me see some hands in the air: Who remembers Larry Dahl? I remember him well; words fail me, so I'll just say a nicer guy I've never met. Look up 'gentleman' in the dictionary, you'll see his picture. Larry, like Walt Henry, lost his life on a penninsula in Southeast Asia in 1971. You'll not find his name on the memorial wall in Olympia as he was born on Oregon. Last week, I found his name on a wall at the Vietnam Memorial in Portland. I'll post more on my FaceBook page for any and all who wish to pay homage. It saddens me to think Walt and Larry never had a chance to live their lives; they died so young, so long ago. I think the least we can do is observe a moment of silence. What say ye ??? (I tried to clean up the picture, but my graphics skills are limited) RIP Larry & Walt.

When my husband and I were first married, he was stationed at the pentagon. They have a display of Medal of Honor winners. His name is there. I was proud to call him my friend.

Didn't Larry have a brother in the FHS class of '67?

I remember Larry and agree with John. He was a gentleman and a hero. He gave his life to save his comrades by throwing himself on a hand grenade. Rest in piece Larry; and thanks for your service.

Larry's brother was Art. He also had a younger sister named Nola.

Apparently Sheriff McCloud is off duty. But hey, look what I found in the archives !!! I'm guessing this is Spring 1965. I really liked Mr. Smallbeck(sp?). I maybe even learned some algebra in that class......

OK....soooo......another Quaker has been lost, but not of the '68 ilk. Michael Baldwin passed away in 2012 after a battle with a brain tumor. Now his sister has died of ovarian cancer. Her inner circle called her Jo'. I would see her now & again at Seward Park in the late 60's & early 70's. Any of you Whitworth alumni may recall her father, Pershing Baldwin, taught 6th grade. They lived just a half-block from Whitworth on 45th, on the north side. Jo' moved all the way across the playfield to the south side on Bennett. I'm guessing she was in the class of '72. RIP Jo'.

I remember the Columbia City Cafe.  My best friend Gloria was a waitress there for a few years and I would meet her there after her shift and we'd go to the movies at the Theater there across the street.   Good old days.

Michelle & John you mentioned the columbia city cafe and the Elbow Room well, I was there back on June 4th of this year for a Save KPLU Benefit concert. The pictures below shows present and past being posted on Facebook group page "You know you grew up in Rainier Valley" started by Susan A Wood Schroeder, Nancy's sister. https://www.facebook.com/groups/194715054021486/  search within site with 'Elbow Room' in the search field and click on comments there is posted history. Short of going there, quote: The Columbia City Theater would later become Elbow Room Card room & tavern of the 60's -70's many of of us remember..... At 4915 next door was Jack Monahan's Boar's Nest 1905 later a garage and becoming Angie's tavern 70's ...... The steps inside are still there..... that data is taken from larger city archives of that block in Columbia City. There is more cultural data on the theater and as well for the cafe though, I don't recall data mentioning it but , that was months ago researching history. The past picture shows the cafe.

Greets, I was in Vegas for the 1st time a year ago when 'I heard the news today, oh boy' that David Bowie, Celine Dion's hubby, Jack Halfon & Buford Neal had passed away. Trying to contact Jerry Israel (lives in Vegas) became a comedy of errors and we were unable to connect. Sooooo, this time, I'm elated that nobody has died, and Jerry & I enjoyed lunch yesterday while we watched the SeaHawks get grounded by the Falcons on some huuuuge screens at a sports book just off the strip. For some icing on the cake, it's sunny and 60's here; now THAT's how to do winter, me thinks. Peace.

Great to hear you connected with Jerry whilst basking in the glitter, bells, whistles & ka-ching, glad you're taking home more than you came with, that's fortuitous winnings! Have fun and Happy New Trump Year!surprise Dang! It's going to be the BIG BANG THEORY going on to TWO BROKE GIRLs, we will hear and see all the tweets that have broken new ground for communcating the absurd etc. Familiar doublespeak phrases will be far from passe..... "it's rigged, it's rigged", "bad, it's bad" & on. Oh my.......
