Mr. M, uje is my nickword for usual. Here's a question: how do you shorten the dialog box when you submit a message?

Dorthy, thanks for the answer.  I will now plead guilty for starting Sylvia's ear worm.  In answer to your question.  This rebel without a clue has not one scintilla of an idea.  Perhaps the send button triggers a shrink ray out in the ether.  I am resonably sure that Mr. B H might have a better answer.

Mz J. P.  Instead of I think I can might be replaced with I know I can.  One of my standbys is to draw in a deep breath and forcefully expel the air with a good old "Horse or Bull Stuff".  Save that for later in the day.  There is always the good old Harvard Step Test for an indoor workout.  Mind you now, this is coming from a guy who no longer has to worry about gravity reversal.  One law I have been breaking for some time.

As uje another case of lights  on, nobody home.  I looked at as in, I met a real uje bear on the trail.  It is now in my vernacular.  Now down south, do they say uje-yaal?

Favorite teachers.  Mine is Miss Telban from Graham Hill (third grade).  I still remember a talk that we had on the back porch of the portable.  As uje I was harassing Lianne, Janice, Linda and Jorgene.  Still don't use that word, good talk.

Mine was the teacher in second grade, Miss Lang. My first crush. I was so disruptive, they used to have me prepare their soup for lunches in their small teachers lounge (misnomer for sure). I was unfortunately asked to go to the principal pretty regularly so Mr. Ross and I used to play checkers. No joke. I also liked Ms. Telban like John did.

John-as I recall, you were quite good at the harassment thing!

I went to a different grade school from most of you as we moved to Mt Baker right before Jr High at Asa Mercer started. Fav teacher at Madrona elementary was Mrs. Nelson, from Asa Mercer a black science teacher whose name I don't remember, and Mr. Nagle from Franklin. In that science class is when I had to face the fact that I needed glasses. I sat next to Barbara Tatel and had to borrow her glasses all the time to see the board.

Yaela the black science teacher at Asa Mercer was Mr Manning. He was my favorite teacher there too. In fact I am friends with him on FB still.

Favorite teachers: Ms. Suzuki, John Muir; Mr. C (can't remember his name), Asa Mercer science teacher; Mr. Yorita, Franklin. Al, don't recall you as disruptive at Franklin at least not in comportment ... must've made a shift.

Mark, that's cool that you are still in touch with Mr. Manning.  How is he doing?  Given how old we all are he must be getting up in years. Please say "Hi" for me.

Yaela I am not sure how old Mr Manning is. He just celebrated another birthday Firday. You are right though that he has to be up there a bit since we ourselves are not youngins anymore. Other than being on Dialysis three times a week he seems to be doing well. He has a wonderful outlook on life and his mind is still very sharp. I enjoy being his friend on FB because I still learn a lot from him from the things he posts. I did pass on your greetings to him and shared that several people named him as their favorite teacher in junior high. He was touched hear that sent me back a nice response. I am sure he would love to hear from you or others directly. You could friend him like I did on FB under the name James A, Manning.

Albert O,  Never realized that things were so tough at East Brighton/Graham Hill.  That story is just too funny.

Glad to see some great participation on our forum.

Great teachers.  Sharples  Mrs Crow (born in Russia 1908), Mr. Ruhl (WW II at 17)and what can we say Mr. Bowen.  Franklin Mr. Nagle, Mr. Hall, Caddy, Mr. Luckman, Mrs. Carter.  Too many good trachers.

Okay, one more question.  Who got on Nishamura's bus to heck and back, for berry picking?  Not I.  The only stories I have heard are from friends who were told to never to come back.  Sounded like a good money maker.  I delivered papers from the age of eight, making big money.  Rainier District Times, Shopping News and the Seattle Times, til 16.

Janice.  To paraphrase Winston Churchill.  Those were not among my finest hours.  Belated apologies.

Mark W. I gave it a shot on Facebook friending a James A. Manning.  Does he live in Milton now?  In the posts I read he mentions being in his 90's.

Yaela yes Mr. Manning does live in Milton now. I was planning on writing to you today but it seems you beat me to the punch. From what Mr Manning wrote yesterday he evidently just turned 90 last Friday. He wrote a little about his personal history yesterday. Did you read that? It was an interesting read. Looking forward to reading more of his history as he plans on sharing it in the future.

Questionable question of the day.  Was Smokey Hays a classmate of ours?  If so he/she/undecided will be all over Western WA this weekend.  Visiting from Eastern WA.

Fi, Fi, Fie, Fie, Fo, Fo Fum.  I smell smoke in the auditorium.  That Smokey Hays he's a craze that Smokey Hays.  He's going be put out, just you wait see.  Why are they always throwing water on me?..................

Mr MacLeod, you ask some questionable questions.  Since I am not in Washington, I will let those of you who are, sort out the question.

09/09/22 11:19 AM #1485

John MacLeod

Unquestionably, a questionable question.  Hazy Hays has arrived.  Not much thus far, but not anywhere near what others have been dealing with.  Truly history being made in real time.  Hope all are doing well in our western states.

Washington State History.  I don't recall reading about the many Black Pioneers that helped found our state and  several cities.  Did you know that Bass Reeves freed slave and US Marshall was the template for the Lone Ranger.  He brought in over 3,000 murderers, bank robbers and desperadoes from the Indian Territories with one native deputy.  My great-grand father did the same here in Washington Territory. but not nearly those numbers.

Okay...Blah, Blah, Blah, Enough Already.  Sending it off to the "Shrink Ray" in the ether.

I know a few of our classmates come from pioneering families.  Perhaps they might share some family history.

Anybody remember the 1963 hit song Charlie Browning by The Young Men? I just listened to it on YouTube. This was when Husky Football and the Hydro races reigned supreme.
