Thank you, Paul. I love to discuss politics, too. However, I agree that this site is not the place.

Hi Paul and All,

Though, I hesitated for sometime posting. I agree with you to a point, my friend. I saw the posts through many different lenses; perspectives, if you may. I will come back to that later.

Given the heightened atmosphere we are living in, you may not agree that my political views, they were dropped off at the front doorstep. I was going to leave a disclaimer that some may interpret context differently.

In the same breath, in my eyes, it was not my intent to draw a line in the sand for the sake of debate- argumentative conversation, sowing positive - negative political narratives, or amping or offending our emotions, or pander-patronize implicit biases. (presumption of already having it)

So of the perspectives, the lenses, from the standpoint of High School Class and Classmates, it is our diversity foremost given the context which they present themselves. Be it an image or how we view the text; it is going to question our emotional EQ no matter what; we are human. I apologize.

In turn, is it not okay to mention or show a degree of FHS protesting racism image?

Maybe that of our 1968 class-sit-in?

It would not be appropriate to write or show another class year. - We have talked amongst ourselves about discrimination & racism here on this forum that pertained to our years at Franklin after.

In an openminded conversation of our time and classmates then and now, it is not a reflection - comparison of the Franklin spirit of who we have become, who we are?

Regardless of our outside beliefs and influences. Is it not, of the nature of our diversity, given context show the different perspectives of the Franklin spirit?

With that said, Political Beliefs aside, it is not what this forum represents. There are other platforms.

To share 2 quotes: “Let us not emphasize all on which we differ but all we have in common. Let us consider not what we fear separately but what we share together.” – JFK

“All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.” - Galileo

My thoughts on guidelines, if any are; Self-regulation in Show of Respect – Kindness - Camaraderie

Thanks everyone for your help.  I have confirmed that John Hein is in contact with Jim Eastwood's widow Becky.  He will forward messages.

Well put Sheriff McCloud. I think you may've morphed a Dirty Harry quote and derived the armpits analogy. Nonetheless, clever euphemism. I'd be the 1st to concede I'm not a legal eagle by any yardstick, but what about that 1st amendment thang? My dilemna has always been a bit of a head-scratcher: I've never been sure that my views ARE views. Whatcha gonna do? Peace.

John, John..... Let's be honest here, credit where credit is due: Paul could grace the cover of GQ without regard to age. Me? Doctor's orders, I'm wearing a mask, even after dark !!! Anywise the groaner you're about to peruse is your own fault; you remembered me with your koala narrative. Q. What do you call snake evolution? A. HISSS-tory.... Bah-dah-boom...tsshhh...... yer welcome.....

Hey John - how come I didn't know you were this funny in high school?

Hey John & John, I guess you know too, at this age a compliment is that much more appreciated. Thanks so much.

Probably some others are going through what I went through about a year ago, when the standard yearly optometrist appointment revealed both glaucoma and the beginning stages of cataracts in both eyes. I'm very thankful that I opted for the more expensive treatment on the cataracts, and now I have no more glaucoma and the more expensive lenses with the cataract surgery have given me back 20-20 vision! (Dr. Marcus Meyer, in West Seattle and Burien). The only glasses I wear are sunglasses.

Sorry to hear about your loss John. Never a good time for that to happen. No worries on the idiocy as we're currently living in an Idiocracy and it's a classic case of 'you can't make this s#!t up. Check yer messages, and then pleeez email me. Ciao for now, peace to friend & foe alike.

Love all the posts.

Hey, John maybe the new eyeglasses helped herd rustling easier? You can herd harder by the day with swine sweat away-coat of antiperspirant deodorant. I digress. Here's a non-blinding - no partisan vote on ageless mod Waverly's.

Thank you, John. Earl and I met 52 years ago at his senior prom (Garfield HS). We had a rocky first few years, but through it all God blessed us to keep working it out. Even though we're in our retirement years, I often feel like we're on our honeymoon. It's pretty wonderful to be with someone that you're happy to just be with.

John, if Earl's part Scottish he lost the gene for appreciating bagpipes! Although the other traits fit, along with integrety and compassion. I guess we did pretty good in picking our life partners. Thanks for the kind words.

I just received a message from classmate Arnold Corrales and I am going to paste it here, just as it came to me.  May you all be blessed by Arnold's wishes.

Best wishes for the rest of the class. I hope that everyone pulls through this virus. I am not much into being a friend but give my best to everyone. Thanks!

Wow the number of postings has increased exponentially since I last checked in.
Thanks Ric for your pic of Alfred E Newman. His motto of "What me worry?" can be comforting in these weird times.

John Mc. - Very sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. May her memory be for a blessing.

Paul N. Such good news about your eyes! My cataracts are growing slowly so it's good to hear about your success with treatment.

John H. and all, you are keeping me smiling. Like Nancy R. I appreciate your humor.

So sorry to hear of the loss of both Lawrence and LeRoy. LeRoy and I met at Graham Hill and wreaked havoc as members of the Cub Scouts that met down the street from his house as I recall at a church. Den 13 I believe. He was someone I did not know well as we grew older but I have very fond memories of our childhood together. May he and Lawrence Rest in Peace.

I too am sorry to here about the passing of Leroy and Lawrence. I didn't know Leroy but remember Lawrence all the way back to my early days at Whitworth. I remember him as being kind of a tough guy when I first met him and one of those that I shared my K-12 experience. May they both rest in peace.

Yes, John of Hoodwink, I sensed your symbolic gesture via the Dalles. I warned the Emporer: The Farce is strong with this one; he has learned to control his beer....... What'll it be next? A Death Keg, as foretold in the Book Of Fallopians......
