The Franklin Alumni Association and Foundation held the annual Hall of Fame Celebration in May. Gregory Dean was inducted. He is now the Fire Chief in the other Washington, so he could not come but he sent an old picture, which took me back. We had a tableful to cheer his induction. I finally have a few pictures - Dave Azose, Sam Amira, Shirley Kiser, Vic Alfonso, Virg Descargar, Mayumi Tsutakawa and me.

Wonderful to see all the grown up, mature former students. Especially nice to see you all still involved with Franklin. Thanks for sharing, Marlene Souriano-Vinikoor

I only wish my car looked that good. Remember I had two different seat colors, red in front, turquoise in back. I loved that car. Sold it in 1968 after HS for $600.

I've been going thru boxes of old pix & all manner of miscellaneousness in an effort to digitize & de-clutter....and what do I find......anybody else still have theirs ??? Forbes Bottomly? OK, that's what it sez.

To this day, I can't think of this time without remembering that RFK was murdered as we bid adieu to hi skewl, just 2 months after MLK was murdered. I pondered what the future held, as many events of the 60's gave me pause......

A loss in the Class of '68 Family

She came to the 2014 Franklin Hall of Fame Celebration, and Shirley Kiser sent me this picture - with Sharon, Shirley, Donna Amira and Virg Descargar.

Rest in peace, Sharon.

A belated Happy New Year to all of you. I hope the coming year brings you much happiness and good health.

Going with the family to the Seahawk's-Cardinal's game tomorrow in Phoenix. A short flight from LA and a 65th birthday present from my kids. Can't wait. Of course, I'd rather be 50 and watch the game on TV. But, not in the cards.

All the best to you and GO HAWKS!!!!!!!

OK, it's a new year, so how 'bout an old pic ??? I'm talking O-L-D........Let's see if my ram chips still work. Left-to-right: Debbie Kashino, Cheryl Ruggles, Jim Eastwood, Marsha Gross, Bruce Henderson, Joan Urwiler, Karen Crist, (my ugly mug) Marcia Wuest(?), Steve Mansell. 3rd grade, Miss Karvonen (RIP) Boy, we sure could wear them red vests !!! Karen Crist disappeared, but the rest of us went to Shape-Less and Franklin. Hear that? That's George Harrison singin' "All Those Years Ago".........

Thanks for sharing the historic picture.  Ms Karvonen did a lot of great things with our class. And I'm still a short front row person.  Never did grow tall.

John - can you tell us where the ladies are now?  I remember all of them!  Have no idea where they are - if they're alive even.  I know Kashino is here - don't know about the rest.

Thanks!

I don't know where Joan is, but hey, she's in here somewhere.....Joan? Where are you? Debbie Kashino lives in Seattle and has been a teacher for many years (she may be retired). Marsha Gross lives in....I forget....Kentucky or Tennessee or ???. She was a flight attendant, but may also be retired, I dunno. Nobody that I'm in touch with knows where Cheryl Ruggles is (her 2 sisters are deceased). Last I heard Marcia Wuest was living in the old 'hood, but that was 20 years ago. We took our vehicles to the same mechanic, one of our classmates Lee Hemnes. Lee closed the shop and retired a few years back. Rex's Service had been there since we were in grade skewl, and Lee started working there when he was about 14(?). Mike Holman mentioned not long ago that we've known each other over 60 years......I'm thinkin' we got old....or something....

Joan U: I read somewhere that if your legs reach the ground, they're as long as they need to be. Seems to me that you were one of the tallest, academically.

Hi All, I live in Vancouver, Washington, with my husband of 45 years, Dave.  We work out of our home for Wycliffe Bible Translators.  Dave is the International Treasurer and Internal Audit Coordinator. I work as his assistant. It's a great job, with a great boss, and flexible hours. The job has taken us to over 30 countries. In December we were in New Zealand and Australia.  Here's a picture taken near Hobart, Tasmania.

John - Thanks a bunch for the update!  It would be fun to touch base with these people.  Cheryl Ruggles was a lot of fun at school.  It would be nice to see her again.  Sorry about her sisters.  I didn't really know them.  I mostly hung around Cheryl at school. I just remember laughing a lot with her. :)
