running as fast as I could from the top floor to the basement and ( after winning the race ) running into the wall at the bottom and spraining my ankle so bad that I was on crutches for two weeks. was worth it-girles carried my books every day! Of course the coach was not happy at all with me. Hey, it was durning off season & I did recover in time for cross county my senior year.

Bob Carlisle and I skipping a running workout to go to the girls basketball game at Ballard. When coach Ahern found out he told Bob he was going to blow up his car. Bob parked his car way off campus for over a month worried it was going to be blown up. Of course the coach would not have said that if Bob had not told him that we were kidnapped by the cheerleaders and forced to go to the game. Coach knew Bob and I had gone to the game in that old blue rambler of his. |
