Tonight CNN starts a new series entitled 1968. Thought it might be a good one to check out if you have not already planned to watch or record. Program begins at 9PM ET/PT.

As posted on Facebook Reunion Class page "Franklin High School Quakers Class of 68 50th Reunion Seattle"

CLASSMATES Where Are You?

We all remember the early '60's sitcom "Car 54 Where Are You" - so it is our crowdsourcing call for our missing.

If you know any information feel free to contact us and let them know we are here too. Our Tolo databank files are missing their current vitals.

It is with Great Appreciation and a Big Thank You! OUR LIST of Whereabouts needs your empowering helping hand of engagement.
Aloha

Sadly I report the passing of Cheryl Carrabba. We were in Miss Hofer's US history class when we 1st heard that JFK had been shot in Dallas. I cropped this pic from the Sharples Sharks 1965 yearbook. Cheryl, RIP

Found a better pic of Cheryl. This is 1999 when Gary Locke hosted a reception at the Guvna's manse in Olympia for the class of '68. Almost 20 years ago? Really ???

John Hein

I'm saddened beyond words, but I just stumbled onto something on FB that was posted by Andrea Dills, who is apparently Micheline (Hoag) Middleton's daughter:

My mom Micheline Middleton passed away Thursday evening after being in the hospital about a week and half. She will be loved and missed more than words can express. I don't know all of her friends to reach out to and I'm sorry to do it this way. I have tried to contact the ones we knew, but it has been such a crazy time for my brother and I and the family. We will do a memorial but it will be later possibly a few months. If you are interested let me know and I will contact you when a date has been made.

The post is from May 19, so the Thursday would've been May 17. Does anybody have any way of finding out about this? I'll do what I can, stay tuned......

Micheline's story began in Seattle, WA in 1950. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1968. She studied at Skagit Valley College after moving to the valley and bringing a beautiful daughter into the world in in 1974. She married Jerry in June of '77 and gained a son, known to most as Pudge. The family traveled around a lot but finally came home and settled outside of Sedro-Woolley in 1985. She was proceeded in death by her parents Armanda and Jay Hoag, her daughters Dawn Lynn and Heather, and her husband Jerry Ross. She passed on May 17, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her eldest sister Jaqueline Gray and her husband Jim Gray (who acted as a father figure to her) her sister Liliane Wimmer, her son Jerry E. Middleton, daughter Andrea Dills, six grandchildren and one great-grand daughter as well as nieces, nephews, brothers and sister-in-laws. She leaves behind many friends and family members that loved and cared for her in her short stay on earth. She will be sorely missed but our hope is in Jesus that we will reunite again. A celebration of life will be available at a later date.

Thanks John for letting us know.  I sent a note to Micheline's daughter and asked that we be notified when they have her service.  RIP Micheline.

I spoke with Lee Benouns sister on the 24th when I was asked about Lee dying, it seems the condolences are premature.

Building Community. As of July 26 classmates that are coming to the 50th. Forty-nine years have come and gone and the 50th is upon us. You look so good It's a groovy thing - wild thing you make my heart sing.

Remember, dress comfortably as you may, it's summertime the dress is casual for both Friday and Saturday. Please remember to sign up for Friday. It’s only $5.00 "prepayment," but it helps us on our counts.

We suggest carpooling, if you can, to Marcia Ray’s house on Friday after the basketball game because space is limited at Marcia’s house.

Lastly, we are considering using a professional company to video the Friday basketball game and Saturday night at The Canal!! The cost is $29.95 and possibly lower if we can assure the videographer enough are interested. If you would be interested, please let Steve Condiotty know at srslcon@aol.com or 425-445-4025.

Not to complain, but my last name is spelled Fannan. Thanks

Gregory Colman

I guess I am not the only one with a misspelled last name.  No "E" in Colman.   Never was, never will be.  Happens a lot.  Hope the name tags at reunion get it right.  See you all soon!

Thanks Susan and Greg.  I have alerted the committee to the incorrect spelling of names on the list.  There are several other mistakes as well.  Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the reunion. I have great memories of my time with many of you not only at Franklin but Sharples and Whitworth too. Have a great time and be safe.  Phil Anderson

Marlene, come to the Saturday night event, too!

08/16/18 09:39 AM #1228

Yaela Ettlinger (Yaela Ettlinger)

Yes please Marlene come to Saturday.  It was a little too expensive for me but fortunately there are scholarships.  And it's not going to be formal so no miserable heels or dress that is too tight or whatever.  I'm definitely wearing flip flops!

Classmates - we have lost our Aretha, the songstress of our high school years.  I am glad she's no longer suffering but will miss her horribly.  She taught us so much about respect, being a human being, racial pride, feminism, sexuality, joy, and righteousness.  She was a great humanitarian as well as a fantastic musician.
