Just a note..........It seems that not all e-mails sent through the site are making it through. I know that I have responded to every message sent to me but it appears that not all of them have been recieved. It would also seem that mail sent to me has not made it through.

I will admit to being half flakey but fortunately I haven't become totally flakey, yet. Thus, if you have sent mail to me or someone else and have not had a response it is possible that it was never recieved.

John

John,
THANK YOU, and Tony, for coming out again, and for hangin' out with our classmates afterward. I'll send an email to all that attended.
It seems you've linked me to Tom Rhodes, as you've added an H to my last name.
Is it true that some emails being sent through this site aren't being received? There are a couple of people with whom I was corresponding through this site and I haven't heard back. Not that there's a deadline ,,,
Carry on.

Dorothy,

Maybe you have been misspelling your name all these years. And yes it seems that not all messages through the e-mail have been getting through. I am just getting ready to call Tony. It seems that he sent me an e-mail but I have not recieved it.

I will write Rodes on the blackboard 500 times. I am sure glad your last name wasn't McSlivovitzensteinberg.

John

John McLeod,
You have a blackboard? No need to write upon it for me.
Don't wish to appear petty and/or self-serious; I guess it was that old saying, something to the effect of: Say what you will about me, but spell my name right.
Had my name been however you pronounce that concoction you came up with I would have changed it upon marrying.
OK, there's my not so snappy reply.
Carry on, Dorothy

That's who I missed: Dorothy Rodes Happy belated birthday. The years have been kind.

Thanks Lyn. When the heck is your birthday?

John - I love the idea of being your "highly confidential, inside source" of information from the reunion committee - It sounds so wonderfully clandestine! I guess this will blow my cover, but yes, we did meet last Sunday. Virginia took some great photos at the reunion. The CD is going to Dave, who will find out the best way to make them available to all of us. I'm sure he will send us all an email when they are up on a site we can all access.

Please keep the conversation going. I really enjoy reading all the clever comments. Karen

Dorothy-
I never got to celebrate my birthday in school as it is in the summer. I share a birthday with Susan Colwell and Margaret Kihara July 19th. It's funny how thoughout the years you meet so many people with the same birthday. Must be something about similar likes or character and such. Several of my friends in law enforcement have the same birthday. Perhaps we share the same peace-keeper demeanor...or maybe we are just adrenaline junkies :=D

What is this world coming to? Somebody wrote Rodes (500 times) on the street out front of my house the other day with chalk. I quickly called the Mason County Sheriff, They sent out the Fast Action Response Team (FART). They arrived within a week. Fortunately Dorothy the rain arrived before they did and thus you are off the hook for defacing public property.

My super secret inside source on the reunion committee has come public in order to insure that the true facts make the light of day. I guess that my chance of a Pulitzer Prize for investigative journalism is once again on hold. Thanks for the update on the photos Karen. I know a lot of us are waiting to see them.

I have been working in "Dark Territory" this last week, meaning no internet access and spotty phone service. I am now back and will respond to those who have sent me messages.

Still inthe dark...........John

Lyn, happy belated.
John, I'm glad to be safe from FART. It's entertaining to have you back on the Forum.
Tony, I thought the double name thing only applied to women who didn't change their name, yet as you pointed out there are some men with double last names. Go figure.
Back to "reality".

Tony, Tony..............I can only figure that many of us unknowingly suffer from Walla Walla envy or Hamma Hamma envy or Bora Bora or enougha enougha already. I understand that it is a condition that presents itself as one gets older, akin to telling the same stories over and over to the same people. I plead guilty to the aformentioned condition whether I have drank/taken the fifth or not.

I believe when we registered there were two spaces for names. One for maiden and one for married. You and I must have realized that we wern't maidens and were spaced enough already.

Lost in double space, again..........John John

Tony -
What happened to the message on the Home Page saying when and where you are playing at? Come to think of it this forum site somedays has the latest messages posted and the next day they are missing. John...what are you up to? I'm sure you have something to do with this. John? Where are you? I need my daily snicker from your postings and you haven't been around? You guys are my only contact with the sane outside world as I watch over Snohomish county throughout the night. Hmmm, that's pretty scary isn't it? Tony, I was pondering about heading down to your world to listen to you play. My only concern is I don't do well in crowds. Regardless if you could post it again, I may gather up the courage to venture out. Thanks, Lyn

Hey I just discovered this forum site. I know I am a little slow, but I more than make up for it by being old and forgetful too. I have gotten a kick out of reading the posts here. John you should get paid for your comedy routine here, they are quite funny. Have you been in contact with your secret source KK lately to see when they may post the pictures from the reunion?

BEEP…BEEP…BEEP

This just in.....missing funnyman.

Where in the world is John MacLeod?

It seems that longtime comedian, John MacLeod has been missing for almost two weeks now. Rumors are abound regarding his whereabouts.

The last anyone heard from the jovial Scotsman was mid-October after a bit piece was published in his well read humor column “The Franklin ’68 Forum”. Some have him spotted at the local 7-11 kibitzing with Elvis at the Slurpy bar. Others have him cited on the sound stage 68 in Gollywood trying out his new material on this fall seasons’ new shows “Dancing with the Stripes” which is just a modern day remake of “Jailhouse Rock”. The music leaves you toe-tapping but the fashion is ‘nothing to write home about’. From there he headed for “Wheel of Misfortune” starring Ratfink ‘Rat’ Carjack and Vanna not-so Bright, where everyone waits to see them spin that wheel to discover which Fortune 500 agency succumbs to the next stock market drop. That show is sure leave you ‘sitting on the ledge’ of your rooftop. But then, let’s not forget the exciting “The Price is Negotiable” that has ___bay (I’d like to buy a vowel) auction house shaking in their .99 cent boots with free shipping and 500.00 dollar sellers handling fee.

But then we all remember John is a small town boy so he’s sure not to head south for some ‘willy-nilly’ primetime shenanigans.

Another theory has him lost in cyberspace where he went searching for the missing "H" he swears was in Dorothy's name and the double-double last names that mysteriously appear and disappear.

Our roving reporters tried to get an interview with “she-who-must-be-obeyed” for a clue of John’s whereabouts but couldn’t catch her at home.

Bottom line folks, we need John back. If anyone has any idea please call our toll free hotline 1-800-WE-MISS-YOU.

We now return to your regular scheduled programming…….

Hey Lyn:

Thanks for keeping this going in John's absence. I have been busy deleting the double entries and double-double last names so John doesn't need to keep looking for them out in cyberspace.

John, please come back, we miss you.

Okay, okay I'm back. Lyn had it pretty close. I was kidnapped by seven rogue Luddite miners from the Tubal Cain Mine. They were trying to buy my vote. First off was a trip to the Chicken Coop Inn for 50 cent boneless chicken dinners. Turns out that is a hard boiled egg. Next we were off to the Whistling Oyster. They had heard that they had sign behind the bar that says "Free Beer Tomorrow". Tomorrow never came. We always managed get there today.

They were a little confused about the candidates.

They thought that the Democrat was called the Obaminator and kept saying in their best Arnold immitation "I'll be Barack."

They had John McCain confused with John Wayne and kept saying "Hey Pilgrim".

I managed to escape while they were watching a TV infomercial. They thought it was about a girl from their home town known as six pack Abs. I guess her real name is Amber Ale.

Now, as Alex used to tell Betty (Ma and Pa) at night. "Don't incourage the lad, it will lead to no good."

I'm Baraaaack.............John

Nancy Wood Feldman......Nice picture update to your profile. Now, I could possibly be the object of the Mrs. Karvonan rumor from Whitworth Grade School. I went to Whitworth for Kindergarten and First Grade (Mrs Holmes).

Now as you may remember "The Ogre" had lunchroom duty. She also had a jingle about "Picking up Scrappy-Doodle." We were supposed to pick up anything that had dropped on the floor around us. I was mid-sentence in telling Tom Ballestreri that this was a load of horse pucky and she was a hockey puck when.........all of a sudden the mean old witch had me six feet in the air, upside down over her shoulder and back to her lair. I figured that I was about to join Hansel and Grettle. Fortunately I escaped that fate. After that I never picked up Srappy Doodle again. Since that fateful day I have railed against the machine of domination by lunchroom monitors everywhere.

Hey, gotta go pick up Scrappy Doodle at the Vet's.

John MacLeod, it's mighty nice to have you back on the forum, weird as ever.
Also, to all those responsible, thank you for the many pictures. I see that I missed some people in those rooms full.
Happy post election.

Good to see you're back, John. Great to see the photos. Seems as though I missed some good times!

John nice to see you are back
I apologize to all for getting the pictures up so late. I had to figure out an easy way for everyone to see them on the website rather than going to a photo site. I'm also sorry for the duplicates but I'm not great at uploading multiple pictures off of cd's. I hope you all are enjoying the photos. I have not added captions but maybe we can get Nancy to help remove the duplicates and add captions.

11/07/08 01:44 PM #77

Nancy Raetzloff (Groth)

Thanks Dave for the new job description.

Anyway, I have now put numbers under all of the pictures and am running a contest to see who can find all of the duplicate photos by number so that I can delete them. The deletion process for each picture takes about two minutes so I want to be sure that I get all of them. There is a second contest running for appropriate captions for all of the photos including the names of those pictured therein. Everyone is welcome to compete and the decision of the judge is final. Please list both (or all three?) numbers of duplicate photos. List the photo number and your suggestion for a caption. Thanks for all your help.

Since I wasn't able to attend the reunion, I am looking forward to finding out what you all were up to. I also want to know why Shirley Kieser showed up in so many pictures. And I would love to see the rest of the ensemble that went with the green shoes.

Kathy Menashe.......Sorry to read of her passing. For those who didn't know Kathy, she was quite a character. She was very funny, quick witted and forthright. She was able to poke fun at herself as well as put people in their place, if needed. I must have been a slow learner because she put me in my place more than once.

Edward Smith..........Thanks for the update on your profile. I really enjoy reading about our fellow classmates and their experiences. Speaking of Seafair. I had the opportunity to meet your Dad at a friends race day party in the late 70's. Just like my own Dad. When I asked about you, he slowly shook his head and said "I don't know about that kid of mine."

Still shaking my head..........John

Say, did I ever tell you what a tough county I live in? No, John, tell us how tough your county is. The county's Fast Action Response Team (FART)made a stop at my house the other evening and cited me for burning dinner without a permit. I may switch back to a traditional Irish 7 course meal. A potato and a 6-pack.

This spud's for you..John
