That's evident and true Keith. Another kind-hearted soul has gone too soon. In memorial this Veteran's Day weekend. Never forgotten. Till We Meet Again, Rest in Peace.
What a sad reminder of a horrible time for our country as a whole and the individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice. For three years Walt and I shared the same table and the same "home room" as we started the day at Franklin High. Always the same kind, gentle man with an easy smile his premature death was a stunning shock to many of us. I don;t remember him even mentioning that he was joining the service until we heard the news of his passing. Many thanks to whoever thought to acknowledge and remember this man, who knows what would have become of him, this is just SO sad
I remember Walt from Whitworth, Sharples, and my sophomore year. We played baseball at Lakewood Playfield. I think he was involved with amateur boxing as a sophomore. His father was very involved in Walt's activities. I found his name on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in DC. He was always a good guy and was the first person I knew to die in Vietnam. Thank you for sharing this information.

So sad. Sorry he passed so soon. He could have done so much in his life. I always thought he was so kind.
